Crantock has a peaceful atmosphere with its picturesque cottages and large areas of National Trust land, there are plenty of walks and places to explore.
Belle Isle Cottage is perfectly positioned in Crantock not just for the beach which is just down the road (approx 2 minutes walk) but is also just a couple of minutes away from the local shops and pubs.
This wide stretch of golden sand is backed by tufted dunes, offering perfect picnic hollows at high tide. To the right the beach meets the River Gannel estuary.
The beach is really an all-rounder and is perfect for families with young or older children, water sports, flying kites, exploring or just soaking up the sun.
Toilets and refreshments are available, in season a ferry operates to take you over the River Gannel so that you can explore the Gannel Estuary.
Crantock village features 2 good pubs. The first is the Old Albion a picture postcard thatched village pub which is hundreds of years old, highly popular year round with both locals and visitors it has many well kept beers and a wide ranging menu. Naturally with a pub of this age, lots of beams and character!
The second is the Cornishman, a great family pub with large restaurant and excellent food. The Cornishman benefits from plenty of outdoor seating in the summer and often runs barbeques and other family events.
Just outside Crantock in West Pentire is the Bowgie Inn, a popular pub with a good size restaurant, bar and play area for children.
In Cubert, two miles from Crantock, the Smugglers Den, has a reputation for good food and wine.
Crantock benefits from an excellent local shop and post office. As well as a good range of groceries, newspapers, magazines, local bread and cakes the shop also sells a huge selection of hot and cold Cornish pasties, fresh cooked chickens and more.
Right in the centre of the village is the tea rooms, known for their friendly service and freshly prepared food the tea shop serves a good range of meals including sandwiches, salads, jacket potatoes, home made cakes, cream teas and Cornish ice creams.
Crantock also features two art galleries with some excellent original paintings at surprisingly good prices. Near the village shop there is also a small antique shop.
